Powers and Abilities:
. Able to manipulate shadows. Can create shields or barriers with them. Easilly draws shadows away from things that are casting one in order to use them.
. Can move shadows around to block or contain light sources. Can also contain other beings like this but it's extremely hard for him to do.
. Uses the pole he often carries to extend his abilities, such as to form the barriers on the end of it or around it, like a focal point. You may see him with a shadow-disc parasol in sunnier weather.

Personality: Quiet, Perceptive, Rational, Disciplined.

Is not a total hard-case like Albone, is friendly and hospitable to others but does not tolerate lax attitudes to important work. He's pretty poker-faced most of the time, and would prefer to be training alone than ''hanging out''.

Despite being a very rigorously straight-aiming guy, he is not inflexible. He is supportive and protective of those he is close to, and is near-unquestioningly obedient to his superiors.

His discipline and focus to his defensive studies makes him cool and collected, and is always prepared to throw any oncoming attackers right off their feet.

Has absolutely no problem with whapping the legs of miscreants using his trusty pole, which never leaves his side.

Has a weakness for home-cooked meals and anything fruity, especially smoothies.

Also easy to annoy if you call him by his actual name, he has loathed and despised it from childhood, and is much more content to be referred to as Shades. This nickname was flung at him in a discriminatory way, but adopted by himself as a way to tell others where to stick it.


History: Created and raised for the majority of his life in the Indian Lab, he has never been that social with others and was often picked on for his 'sit-quietly-in-the-corner' attitude.

In the process of his growth and training, he became an easy target for manipulation and often ended up with the short straw.

Not to be deterred, and through acceptance of his position as the one most likely to be thrown under the proverbial train to keep others from harm, he has devoted his time to honing his skills in defence in order to one day protect those he really cared about.

At the age of 17 he was transferred to the Pacific Lab to improve on his 'teamwork' skills. During the course of the next few years he befriended others around his age such as Albone and Anouke. Subsequently, having worked hard with honing his skills, he was assigned to partner with Anouke and to assist her with the task of training newer, younger CVs.

During one mission to the mainland which, for the most part was successful, he was the unfortunate recipient of a cruel and near-fatal attack of one very sharp-clawed beast, which has left him with some rather unsightly scars around the neck and upper-arms. He would have most likely had his throat ripped out if Albone and the other team members had not stepped in, and to this day is still grateful for this act. He also still wears high-neck, long-sleeve tops to avoid others staring at the scars he recieved, as he finds it distracting and rather annoying.


Strengths:
. His ability to control, contort and bend shadows into a strong, tangible and physical defence has given him an invaluable place in a team. He manipulates them usually through physical contact of the nearby area, or by extending his reach through the pole and drawing it up the pole into his grasp.
. Always constantly-aware of his immediate surroundings should he be targetted, even in social situations.
. Is a refined and seemingly un-flawed artistan of Aikido, which he diligently practices. His ability to deflect oncoming attacks makes him somewhat untouchable.
. Champion of Hide and Seek. Do not even try to beat him, you will never find him.


Faults:
. His hair was black at birth, but due to continued use of his abilites, has inadvertantly drained the colour out of it.
. Extensive use of his abilities at one given time also disrupts his vision, as some of the power he uses sticks around and turns his eyes black. This is also one of the reasons he keeps the pole handy.
. If he is in a place with so many lights that there is practically no shadow to work with, he has to resort to his martial art as a defence.


Additional info:
. If he has no shady spot to sit in during a hot day, he will make one.
. Can change his glasses into sunglasses by drawing a little shade from elsewhere and redirecting it.
. Has never shown any particular and directed focus to any individual. The only CVs he is a little open with are Anouke, and most recently Mahjong.
. He will make you kiss the dirt if you use his real name in any sort of taunt or jibe.
. Has no really discernable accent, but his voice is somewhat deep and rich sounding. Also has an odd choice of words sometimes when referring to others, you'll see...
. Although his sense of humour is very underdeveloped, he enjoys manipulating other CVs' shadows and making them look ridiculous to embaress them.
. Don't make fun of his shade-parasol. He finds it practical.
. His eyes are pale-green, the black photo on the left is an example of how they change during power-use.
